About 20 thousand packs of cigarettes with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus were found by the Baltic customs in bags with microchips.

A cargo of microchips for export to the UK was declared by a St. Petersburg company. The risk of a high probability of false declaring was triggered in regard to the cargo.

Uncharacteristic darkening of the product structure was revealed during the x-ray inspection of the container. When opening the container customs officers found 10 big bags with parts of microchips. All products had cracks and broken connectors although according to the documents there should have been "printed circuits for electronic devices that are not scrap electrical equipment".

In eight big bags among the microchips customs officers found 40 flat cardboard boxes with cigarette blocks inside. In total, 20 thousand packs of NZ cigarettes with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus were identified.

Upon concealment of goods from customs control the Baltic Customs initiated an administrative offense under part 2 of article 16.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.
