More than 38 tons of alcohol, transported as the mail postage, were detained by customs officers in the Kaliningrad region. The fact of illegal import of two large consignments of alcoholic beverages was revealed by officers of the Kaliningrad regional customs in cooperation with the Kaliningrad region FSB Directorate.
Two cargo vehicles with goods for one of the Kaliningrad firms, transported by ferry from the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region), arrived at the Baltiysk customs post of the Kaliningrad regional customs. One of the vehicles was decorated in the style of FSUE Spetsvyaz of Russia vehicles.
According to the shipping documents, the vehicles carried postal items packed in boxes and bags. Customs officers detected boxes with alcoholic beverages in the vehicles with a total weight of more than 38 tons. The bottles and boxes design copied the style of famous vodka brands (Kedrovaya, Rodnik Sibiri, Finskaya Silver, Khortytsya, etc.). The bottles were also equipped with stickers imitating excise stamps.
The product has signs of counterfeit and is prohibited for sale on the Russian Federation territory. The company that sent the goods, located in the Mytishchi district of the Moscow region, is presumably affiliated with the receiving company.
Alcoholic beverages were seized and sent for examination, based on the results of which a procedural decision will be made by employees of the Western Linear Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on transport.
