The mobile group of the Samara customs office detained a consignment of 1.8 thousand counterfeit smartphones marked with the trademarks of Apple, Samsung, Huawei.

A vehicle with gadgets in cargo followed from Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) to Moscow and was stopped by the village of Bolshaya Chernigovka (Samara region). Customs officers found 1 245 Huawei phones, 335 Samsung and 234 Apple in the cargo hold of the vehicle. In order to establish the authenticity of the goods, they sent requests to the copyright holders of the trademarks.

According to the conclusion of the rightholders representatives, the detained products are counterfeit: the appearance and workmanship do not correspond to the original. In addition, the batch recipient does not have permission to use these trademarks. According to the rightholders’ estimates, the amount of caused damage could be about 100 million rubles.

At present, verification activities are being carried out on the fact of illegal use of trademarks.
